The great Canadian photographer, Freeman Patterson, said, “The camera always points both ways. In expressing your subject, you also express yourself.” I believe that to be absolutely true. Who I am is there in my photographs. Photography for me is a journey of self-discovery and quiet reflection on life. It’s a journey for which the ticket to ride is paid with vulnerability. I aim in all my photography to be open to the moment and honest in my response. I love life’s little moments and I aim to bring that passion to my work. I use the camera as a tool to draw attention to what I see as the extraordinary in the everyday. It is this focus on the beauty and wonder of life that drives me to pick up the camera and create images. Viewers will have their own personal reactions to my work but it is my hope that common to all viewing experiences is an appreciation that I put great care into the creation of each and every photograph.
